On November 18th, our customers experienced an impact on the management page, online shops, and payment terminals between 12:30 and 14:00 as a result of a global CloudFlare outage.
All traffic directed to Unipage is handled through Cloudflare because of their superior protection against cyberattacks (e.g. DDoS). During the incident, Unipage’s services were severely disrupted.
Bypassing CloudFlare was unfortunately impossible, as CloudFlare’s own infrastructure is also behind CloudFlare and therefore was unreachable during the incident.
We are reviewing internally how we can prevent this in the future, including implementing a failsafe that allows us to bypass Cloudflare in the event of a disruption.
We reiterate that in situations like today, status updates will always be communicated transparently via 🔗 https://status.unipage.be/
